The dead come back
Blues mass with clownish elements for Thomas Münzer
The Son of God returns to earth.
But his miracles no longer have any effect.
People no longer believe,
they feel like drifters in a changed world.
He meets his suffering substitute Jesus on the cross
and begins to doubt himself.
He breaks out of himself
and becomes Thomas Münzer.
Who fills "the trumpets
with the fresh song of praise
of the Holy Spirit."
A blues mass with texts by Münzer himself.
Performed in the tradition of travelling minstrels of the Middle Ages,
full of humour, sounds and completely live!
Press reviews:
"Rousing! What sounds like a call for revolution becomes a farcical mixture of biting sarcasm and ingenious slapstick humour with Utz Pannike".
MOPO
"A double history lesson of a musical and anarchic kind....relevant, respectable and dialectical head theatre with a piercing finger in the zeitgeist"
